How many years have you been with Grace?
4
What do you like about working for Grace?
Being able to spend quality time with patients one-on-one.
Describe your most rewarding or satisfying experience since you started working for Grace.
I took care of a gentleman who had to be sent to the ER and later passed away. Months later I ran into his wife in a store and she remembered me by name and thanked me for all I did for her and her husband.
Why did you choose nursing as a profession?
I wanted to be able to make a difference in people’s lives. Being a nurse allows you to bring physical and emotional comfort to patients and their families. It is very challenging but also very rewarding.
What is your perfect day?
A perfect day for me is one in which all the patients I see are doing well and not suffering any new illnesses.
What do you consider your greatest skill?
My people skills. I have been dealing with the public all my life and if someone gets upset, I can usually calm them down quickly and make them happy within a short time.
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve had?
Before nursing, I worked for Austin Bank as a mortgage loan processor. It was interesting to learn all the details of home purchases and how they work.
What are your hobbies?
I love to sew, crochet, and do any kind of craft.
And finally what is something unique that most people don’t know about you?
I love caring for the elderly. I was very close to all of my grandparents growing up and feel that I relate better to this age group.
